The 2023 Plowman Competition & Festival

March 23 (Thursday), Whitmore Recital Hall, the MU School of Music
7:00pm Lucille Chung Piano Solo Recital at the Whitmore Recital Hall at the MU School of Music. Tickets $20/$5 are available for purchase at the door

March 24 (Friday), Master Classes & Outreach Concert
10am - Odyssey Music@CPS, to be confirmed
12-2pm Lucille Chung Piano Master Class - Sheryl Crow Hall at the Sinquefield Music Center (SMC) of the MU School of Music, sponsored by Mid-Missouri Area Music Teachers Association (MMAMTA)

3pm - Odyssey Music@Lenoir Woods present a Plowman Semi-Finalist ensemble
2-4pm Amit Peled Cello Master Class - Sheryl Crow Hall at the Sinquefield Music Center (SMC) of the MU School of Music, sponsored by Mid-Missouri Area Music Teachers Association (MMAMTA)
6:00pm Competition Commencement (ca. 30 min/private event) at the First Baptist Church of Columbia
7:00pm Cellist Amit Peled in recital with pianist Peter Miyamoto.  Tickets $20/$5 are available for purchase at the door.

March 25 (Saturday), 9:30am-5:30pm at First Baptist Church
Plowman Semi-Finals. Tickets $20 General Admission are available for purchase at the door.

March 26 (Sunday), 1:30pm Finals at the Missouri Theatre
10:30am-12:30pm Plowman Brunch with the Judges for the Semi-Finalist Ensembles (private event), TBA.
1:30pm Plowman Finals Concert (5 ensembles) & Award Ceremony at the Missouri Theatre, 203 S Ninth St. Tickets $25/$10 are available for purchase at the Missouri Theatre.

March 27 (Monday), Time TBA, at First Baptist Church
12pm, Jeff Scott Horn Recital with pianist TBA - The First Baptist Church of Columbia, 1112 E Broadway. Tickets $20/$5 are available for purchase at the door.

7:00pm Wei-Yi Yang Piano Solo Recital at First Baptist Church - Fantasies by Brahms Op. 116 & Schumann (Opp. 16 Kreiseleriana, 17 Fantasie) Recital - Free Admission; Donations are gratefully accepted.

March 22 (Friday), Master Classes & Two Outreach Concerts
12-2pm Wei-Yi Yang Piano Master Class - Whitmore Hall, the MU School of Music, sponsored by Organization Resource Group of the University of Missouri.
2-3pm - Odyssey Music@Lenoir Woods present Plowman Semi-Finalist No. 1
2-4pm Lara St. John* Violin Master Class - Whitmore Hall, the MU School of Music, sponsored by Mid-Missouri Area Music Teachers Association (MMAMTA) *Due to unforeseen circumstances, Ms. Ida Kavafian is unable to attend.
4-5pm - Odyssey@The Village of Bedford Walk presents Plowman Semi-Finalist No. 2
6pm Competition Commencement (ca. 30 min) at First Baptist Church of Columbia

7:00pm Violinist Lara St. John* in recital with pianist Peter Miyamoto - Beethoven Sonata in A Major, Op. 47 "Kreutzer," Intermission, Ravel Sonata, Béla Bartók Rhapsody No. 2, (1928), Martin Kennedy: Czardashian Rhapsody. Tickets $20/$10 are available for purchase at the door. *Due to unforeseen circumstances, Ms. Kavafian is unable to attend.

March 23 (Saturday), 9:30am-5:30pm at First Baptist Church

March 24 (Sunday), 1:30pm Finals at the Missouri Theatre

12pm Dale Clevenger Horn Lecture Recital with pianist Natalia Bolshakova - Mahler Songs of a Wayfarer, Strauss Noctorno, and Mozart Concerto in D, at First Baptist Church of Columbia, 1112 E Broadway. Tickets $20/$10 are available for purchase at the door.
